About IBEW 270

Local Union 270 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers was established on July 1, 1952 and maintains jurisdiction over all Outside (including Line Clearance and Tree Trimming) and Inside Electrical work in the Tennessee counties of Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Overton, Pickett, Scott, and Roane.  Also in Anderson County:  Oak Ridge Town site and the Oak Ridge DOE facilities. 

Our Mission

- To establish and maintain an adequate wage for our labor

- To require of our members skill, intelligence, and character

- To protect our employers from unskilled and inexperienced workers

- To advance the principles and practices of conciliation and arbitration in the settlement of any differences with our employers

- To protect and aid our unemployed, distressed, and sick members

- To defend our rights and advance our interest as electrical workers by all lawful means

- To aid and encourage all honorable efforts that will better the conditions of labor

- To make our card and seal a certificate of fraternity, honesty, efficiency, and reliability
